I wasn't taking it that way at all! I genuinely do get the concern, but it seems like it would have to be a really rigid system to be confirmable. Authors who weren't sure if they wanted to de-anon or not or who accidentally posted to the kink meme first would be out of luck, too.
As a side note, there actually is a 911 kink meme on AO3, but you'll note that it has much, much less activity than this kink meme despite existing for far longer. I don't think that's any fault of the people running it; it's because the community aspect is what keeps kink memes going (as well as bulletproof anonymity, which AO3 kink memes don't allow). There's a reason kink memes all but died out when fandom mostly left LJ and DW, and it's because no other platform has been able to replicate those aspects thus far. So that's what's behind my priorities - and of course I don't expect people to necessarily agree with my choices, but just for context.
